Alex & Josh's beach wedding
Alex and Josh have been together 6 years and they initially met through mutual friends. They recently celebrated their love in a perfect beachside wedding at the Iconic West Beach Bathers Pavillion on a very warm Summer's afternoon. Mardy Bridges Photography has managed to captured the vibe and the effortless style of this day on St Kilda Beach, beautifully.
Alex spent the morning relaxing and getting ready with her family and her bridesmaids by her side. There was a buzz of excitement as the clock ticked towards showtime.
Josh and the boys arrived at the venue and they enjoyed relaxing and mingling with the guests as the anticipation of Alex's arrival was starting to build.
Alex & Josh had their heart set on a beach wedding in St Kilda - the suburb they live and love. But due to the hot weather, the decision was made for the comfort of everyone to instead have their ceremony in the beautiful marquee. By no means did this effect the enjoyment of all involved.
Finally the moment everyone had been waiting for had arrived.
Breaking with tradition, the groomsmen boogied with the bridesmaids down the aisle to the sound of Once in my life by Stevie Wonder, setting the tone for a relaxed and light hearted ceremony. As Alex and her dad Jeff made their entrance, guests erupted into spontaneous applause.
At the beginning of the ceremony I suggested to some of the little people involved in the wedding, if they would like to draw a special picture for Alex & Josh. This could be a picture of the bride and groom on their wedding day or any special picture, which we would give to them at the end of the ceremony. This is a great way to keep children busy and make them feel important.
I loved telling the story of Josh’s fun filled proposal, where he surprised Alex after suggesting that they celebrate Halloween at a haunted mental asylum. Sounds like the perfect romantic date!! As they were ushered through the labyrinth by bloodied nurses and lobotimised patients, Josh performed a procedure of his own, resulting in a total and terminal engagement!!!! It was a moment they will never forget and makes a great story for their grandchildren!
Their vows were the perfect mixture of sincerity and fun. Alex promises included to always “ listen attentively to your historical facts, bring you coffee in bed, sometimes take the scenic route and always be prepared for the zombie apocalypse”.
While Josh Declared “I promise to support your hiking adventures, bring you flowers and chocolate croissants, sometimes take the quick way and always help eat the leftover cake”
Making the most of the stunning beach surrounds, they then spent time with Mardy their photographer before they rejoined guests for an evening of celebration and fun with entertainment provided by Horns of Leroy.
This was a truly beautiful wedding bursting with style, colour and love.
Alex & Josh thank you for inviting me to be part of this very special occasion and thank you for taking the time to share this lovely review on Easyweddings.
"Fiona, what can I say? Thank you SO much for a beautiful ceremony. You helped us through every step of the way and made it simple and heartfelt. Many people commented how great you were, and how touching the ceremony was. Brides seriously look no further Fiona is terrific and a sea of calm in what can be a hectic time. I cannot recommend her more"

Meghan & Rohan's Country Victoria wedding
Meghan & Rohan don't take themselves too seriously. They enjoy a laugh and they really wanted their wedding to be a fun but meaningful part of their day.
They both work incredibly hard with their plans for the future including living amongst the wide open spaces of their farm which is located not far from the the idyllic area of Daylesford.
They chose Grange Bellinzona to get married as the property lends itself to allowing their guests, many whom had travelled from Melbourne, to make a weekend of it. It is a beautiful property nestled in the heart of Hepburn Springs and it oozes old world charm - the perfect location for a romantic Australian countryside wedding.
Surrounded by the sounds of the Australian Bush, the girls spent the morning in their cottage on the property, relaxing and putting the finishing touches on getting ready
Whilst the boys enjoyed a relaxed morning on the farm.
Along with Meghan's attendants their little 1year old flower girl Pippa who had recently learned how to walk, toddled up the aisle was causing the guests to collective "ooh & ahh"
Finally the moment arrived as Meghan appeared at the top of the aisle and locked eyes with the man who would soon be her husband. The smile on her face said it all.
Any nerves that Rohan may have had disappeared as Meghan walked towards him.
There were many times during their ceremony that I had to wait for the laughter from their guests to subside including when their best man Shane pretended he couldn't find the rings. Their guests enjoyed hearing about their first impressions of each other when the initially met at Swing dancing classes. Their ceremony was a true reflection of who they are individually and as a couple.
Some of Meghan's personalised vows declared "I have fun sharing hopes and goals with you but I know that I wouldn’t enjoy reality with anyone else" while Rohan's vows included the words "I will help you when you need help, and turn to you when I need help. I choose you as the person I want to spend the rest of my life with"
With the official proceedings taken care, it was time to relax and enjoy the afternoon sun with their guests before heading off to their farm with their wonderful photographer Alan from AJ Photography to capture memories to last a life time
Meghan & Rohan are such a great couple and it was my absolute pleasure to make them a Mr & Mrs. We had so much fun together and it is lovely to receive this lovely review from them.
"From the moment we met Fiona we knew she was the perfect celebrant for us. She listened to everything we said and more importantly to what we didn't say!
The ceremony she wrote was personal, humorous and touching and we had more than one guest comment that it was the best ceremony they had attended. We can't thank you enough Fiona for creating a day we won't forget!! We can only hope some of our friends will book you so we can experience one of your ceremonies from the other side"

Colin & Dee's Irish Country wedding
When my cousin Colin told me he was getting married in Ireland I knew there was no way I could miss it.
Colin lived in Melbourne with his girlfriend Deirdre for a number of years. Over the years we became very close, as we were the only family we each had living in Australia. So despite the distance, there was no way I was going to miss watching him marry the love of his life.
Travelling to Europe for the wedding was a great excuse for a holiday. I decided to spend some time travelling around Europe and to use the time to relax, recharge and become inspired in time for the pending wedding season back in Melbourne. After travelling around Italy, Spain, Portugal and my favourite city Paris I flew to Ireland to join my extended family in the pre wedding celebrations.
Colin and Deirdre got married in a small but picturesque village in County Wexford and close to Irish Sea Coast. Its a place popular with tourists and its easy to see why. With its thatch cottages, sandy beach, historical buildings and of course 4 lively pubs, it was the perfect venue for a Irish Country Wedding.
On the morning of the wedding Colin invited me to the inner sanctum to join "the boys" to take some photos. Colin, his 3 brothers and his good friend Liam were all in great spirits when I arrived. The "craic" was great and the boys were doing a great job of helping to keep any nerves at bay.
Colin works in the world of Craft beers with Irish Craft beers and a customised beer with personalised branding seems like the obvious choice of beer to to help alleviate any tension that was starting to build.
After googling the instructions on how to fold a handkerchief, it was time to start the final preparations.
It didn't take long for the boys to get ready and then the were able to relax and enjoy the time with family prior to travelling to the church.
After going through the final checks including that they had the rings, with a mixture of nerves and excitement, it was time to head off.
Colin greeted their guests from all over Ireland and the world as they gathered prior to the ceremony. Everyone was in great spirits and the mood was relaxed and jovial as we waited for the bride.
Suddenly it came time for Deirdre to enter on the arm of her extremely proud dad Larry. Deirdre is not only stunning but she has a heart of gold and they make a wonderful couple. Watching the bride walk towards the groom is always a very special moment and after months of planning - the moment they had waited for had arrived. Deirdre always manages to look effortlessly stunning and her wedding day was no exception.
Their ceremony was very special and included lots of their friends and family. They had beautiful acoustic music throughout the ceremony and it provided a very warm and relaxed feeling.
After exchanging rings and vows, Colin and Dee were finally husband and wife.
After the official proceedings it was time to head to the reception in the historical town of Wexford. Only in Ireland would you find a traffic jam caused by crossing cows! And how gorgeous are these beautiful bridesmaids?
Weddings in Ireland usually start at lunch time and they literally go for days. As Colin & Dee's wedding was a destination wedding (alot of people had to travel for it) it became a weekend affair. It was a great weekend of celebration of a very loved couple. One I was very privileged to witness.
Thank you Colin and Deirdre for inviting me to share in your celebrations. It was great to be a part of it.
